What is a Product Sales Specialist?

The Product Sales Specialist will promote and sell products to strategic market segments to develop new customers through direct sales calls and/or third party representatives. Provide technical and applications support to representatives and end-users. Support existing sales channels including the direct sales, resellers, and select distributors. This person will be focused on selling our Oil Filtration Systems, Filter Elements, Anderson and Hycoa products in the states of KY, VA, TN, SC, NC, GA, and FL.


What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will live near a major airport within the South East United States (KY, VA, TN, SC, NC, GA, FL) and have three year sales experience through direct sales channels.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop plans to penetrate new customers/markets and applications.
  • Participate in on-site meetings with prospects and customers.
  • Provide market and application information for the defined markets.
  • Help produce marketing materials including presentations, bulletins, sales and technical manuals.
  • Review and analyze customer requirements through blueprints, plans or other information to develop and prepare a detailed proposal which describes: type of equipment needed, price, delivery time and financial terms for the described product.
  • Review proposals for compliance with company standards and contract language.
  • Provide technical, installation and trouble shooting consultation with customers, sales and other Company departments.
  • Market / sell products to the Oil & Gas and power generation and product related market segments.
  • Identify key prospects, complete needs assessments, generate and qualify leads.
  • Develop sales plans to meet / exceed established quotas.
  • Maintain CRM per company guidelines.
  • Routinely track and communicate to management sales prospects, competitive threats, revenue/profit expectations, etc.
  • Participate in promotional events where prospective customers meet – conferences, trade shows, speakers' bureaus & industry relations programs.
  • Run business errands.
  • Interact and communicate with all levels of employees within the Company, as well as suppliers, customers and peers effectively.
  • Comply with policies, procedures, standards and rules of the Company.
  • Maintain quality assurance policy consistent with ISO standards.
  • Maintain work area in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
  • Punctual, regular and consistent attendance.
  • All other job-related duties assigned.

Required Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering, Marketing, or Business preferred or equivalent work experience. Able to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in Standard English. • Three year sales experience through direct sales channels preferred. • Related experience preferred. • Strategic, high energy professional. • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage within the constraints of multiple priorities. • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, entrepreneurial environment where growth and professionalism will be achieved largely through creativity, integrity, reasoned and thoughtful judgment, sense of urgency, a balance between strategic and tactical skills and a willingness to “roll up one’s sleeves.” • Leadership skills characterized by rapidly assimilating a broad vision of needs and creating solutions that can be executed effectively. • Ability to travel 50% of the time with frequent overnight travel requirements. • Successful passing of a routine motor vehicle and credit report.

Physical and Technical Environment

  • Minimal lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally. • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend and stoop in a normal office environment. • Ability to routinely travel throughout multi-floor office and shop area, walking, climbing stairs, utilizing elevator. • Must respond to changing requirements and working conditions. • Clean and orderly manufacturing environment, some exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards. • Exposure to noise, dust, heat and cold on a regular basis. Separate exposure to machine and tool hazards requiring care and attention to safety rules and standards. • Overtime required at periodic intervals to respond to project deadlines. • Works above the rafters, in mechanical rooms, uses ladders, and may be subject to dirt, noise, electricity and extreme temperatures. • Travel required, exposure to varying environments and cultures at the job site, changing deadlines, strict time constraints. • May be required to work remotely.
